What exactly does AI Intel measure?
Whether your domain gets cited inside the answer a large language model generates — not where you rank in Google. AI Search asks a prompt live and shows every source ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity cite; AI Visibility scores how often that citation is you; AI Competitors shows who gets cited instead.
Isn't this the same as tracking AI Overviews or SGE rankings?
No — AI Overviews are still a Google SERP feature pulled from the index. AI Intel queries the model itself, live, and reads the citations it generates inside its own answer — the same surface a user sees when they ask ChatGPT or Perplexity directly, with no Google search involved.
How is the visibility score calculated?
Every prompt run across the selected platforms counts as one AI answer. The score is the share of those answers that cite your domain, shown as "X% cited in Y of Z AI answers," alongside your average citation rank when you do get mentioned — plus the same breakdown per platform.
What are content gaps?
Prompts where a competitor gets cited and you don't — surfaced automatically inside AI Competitors. Each gap comes with the specific competitor page and the prompt that found it, so it converts straight into a content brief.
Do I need Google Search Console connected for this?
